We can learn that when we measure ourselves against somebody else “worse than” us, we can get a false sense of security. (Thank you God, that I am not like Charlie Sheen.)
Every one of us is capable of the kind of self-destruction that Charlie is engaged in. Every one.
And when we start laughing at his expense (or Ted Haggard’s, or Benny Hinn’s, or Ken Silva’s) we can lose a piece of our soul.
I don’t know… I think we can learn a lot from Charlie Sheen:
1) How to have a positive attitude when things are falling apart around us (duh, #winning).
2) That we must rely on a source of strength greater than our own (tigerblood anyone?).
3) That when we make mistakes (unlike Mr. Sheen), we must own up to them.
4) How to be yourself, and not like anyone else. Church leaders need to quit trying to be like the guy/gal down the street, and just be who God made them to be.
I LOVE CHARLIE SHEEN AND WOULD WELCOME HIM TO COME TO CHURCH WITH ME. GOD PULLED ME OUT OF A CRAZY SELF DESTRUCTIVE LIFESTYLE AND CHANGED MY LIFE COMPLETELY. MAYBE JESUS IS THE ONE HE’S CRYING OUT FOR, I KNOW HE’S GOT GOD’S ATTENTION…
I agree with you concerning him SHOUTING OUT for SOMEONE to HELP him!! He is in a position of hopelessness and helplessness. He is crying out in desperation and I pray JESUS will pick him up with his hands and meet his need to be saved from HIMSELF!and his self destructive lifestyle. He heart and life stand at the Crossroads…Everyone needs to be praying for him!!!! Lord…visit him today…speak to him!!!
That’s so wrong…
This made me change my shirt after I shot diet coke through my nose.
Thanks for that.
I totally disagree.

Peter,
You couldn’t said it better. We all have tendencies to be like that Pharisee. Our self-righteousness can be very detrimental to our soul.
I totally agree!! Good advice!

Thanks for taking the bait guys!
If you can’t learn anything from him, it must be because you are just like him?
Arrogance.
Bad for Charlie Sheen.
Bad for the church.
Have you confessed your sin lately?
Chill pill time.
It also shows how whack we can get with no accountability…
two words: tiger’s blood.
get some and you will re-energize your church
