Ummmmmm… All other issues aside, I’m not sure Glen Beck is the guy we should be talking to about truth.

  2. Rod Gauthier says:

Just a question, Is “right wing” and the “American way” synonymous?

  3. If something is not of God then it is of the devil. The Glenn Beck clip evokes a different controversy regarding Glenn Beck being embraced by ‘mainstream’ evangelicals. The better question is this: Is Glee of God?

  4. Wow, I love how this ticked off somebody enough to get on a left wing website. BTW, somebody is doing something – the movie “courageous” is a good example.

The world has a set of values which will permeate everything they do. They aren’t going to accidentally produce a Christian movie or tv show.

I’ve tried to watch Glee and it was totally unappealing to me. I have no idea what the draw is.

The title of the video is pretty disingenuous – not really connected to what Robison was actually saying.

“RightWingWatch” is the left wing political version of an online discernment ministry.

And put me down as one who is pretty uncomfortable with all these evangelicals cozying up to Glenn Beck.

I can’t disagree with anything stated in the clip. As stated earlier, neither do I expect a non-Christian world to embrace a Biblical morality, but programs like Glee have moved from not embracing Biblical morality, to encouraging all forms of immorality. And the worse part of Glee is that it targets the youth, who are being innundated with messages of it’s all okay to engage in-homosexuality, and sex outside of marriage, and it never shows the consequences of these lifestyles. In addition, shows like Glee reveal that hollywood isn’t a reflection of American life any longer, they are trying to reshape life in their own image-they’re trying to reshape a “new normal”. When you consider that many within the hollywood realm who write and produce these shows are actively engaged in the homosexual lifestyle, it is evident that they think that the rest of the world should be as actively engaged in the promiscuous lifestyle as they are.

If I had younger children, I would not allow them to watch Glee for the reasons stated.

Many years ago I turned on a Christian television program where a local preacher used his airtime to “prove” that Smurfs were actually blue devils. Putting myself in the place of a non-believer, this preacher looked really stupid and childish. I heard nothing of Christ, his cross or his blood, but by God I learned how I better eradicate my home from those pesky smurfs before my children went to Hell.

When we highlight a specific show or figure to be a main channel through which the devil operates, we increase the attention towards that show or figure. Glee is not the issue. The church’s failure to articulate a proper response to homosexuality is. The media will never play fair…ever. Expecting them to do so is foolish. Let’s get a dialogue going instead of taking yet another polar stand from which we cannot escape.

  9. The world will always be full of sin and expressions of sin. Entertainment avenues that Christians thought were a threat and were going to lure everyone to hell have come and gone and Christians are still here.

    Twilight
Good Christian (Bitches) Women (coming in Fall)
    The Golden Compass
    Harry Potter
    Will & Grace
    Ellen
the gay executives at Disney and their supposed agenda
    Kevin Smith’s movie Dogma
    The Last Temptation of Christ
    Madonna’s “Pray” video

I believe the Church needs to focus on reflecting Christ and being better ambassadors for the Gospel and not worry about the latest fad that displays immorality. There will always be another to come along.
