Uh-Oh… Another person poking. Some of yous aren’t going to like this. At all.
How dare he try to promote conversation.
What do you think? Sound like an interesting read to you?
Could it be many of us are reading the Bible in a way that it is impossible?

I think he’s coming against “inductive Bible Study”. Where we’re more concerned with what the Bible says “to me” than what it says “to all”…
I find that Christian often abandon sound principles of biblical interpretation in this regard, sadly often from the pulpit.
I’m intrigued by this conversation!
Well, he didn’t really *say* anything in that video. I was left wondering “what is the point?”
I found the book on Amazon, and ultimately found an extensive review (almost a ten minute read itself) here:

Could it be we don’t ask the best question when reading the Bible which is “What did this mean to them?” before we ask “What does this mean to me?”. I am intrigued by the topic as a teacher of the Word I want to make sure I honor God’s Word without forcing it to say things it doesn’t.
I’ve been reading this book over the last month and am half way through it. It’s challenging, but I think it’s a needed critique given how many assumptions so many people have about reading the Scriptures without even knowing they have them. I’m enjoying the read and it’s giving me a lot to think about.
