According to a report from the U. S. State department, there are virtually no churches left in Afghanistan. War, Taliban influence and a lack of government protection have eliminated just about all non-Muslim religious communities. In fact, the State Department’s report says that the last Christian church left in the country was destroyed in March of 2010. It is estimated that 99% of Afghanis are Muslim.

I know there are many things about technology that seem intimidating. I will attempt to explain the simplicity and reasoning behind having email addresses setup with your domain. In general, I realize that most people go to gmail, yahoo or the others and just get an email for simplicity sake. I’ll admit, it is very simple to get a gmail address with something like mychurch@gmail.com.
But is that really the best way to set things up?

Brian Young had big plans for his church’s IT strategy. But his vision suffered a serious setback this summer after Google Inc. altered its nonprofit program to prohibit all churches and religious organizations from participating.
For years, the search and software giant individually offered some of its products—including its office software and popular Gmail—for free or discounted use to qualifying nonprofits. Eligibility requirements varied by product, but churches and faith-based groups were welcome to use some.

I don’t trust pastors. I want to trust them – but I’ve experienced so much church-related devastation that I doubt if I can ever again believe the best about their motives, preaching or how they conduct their lives.
My trust is utterly broken.

The folks over at Christian Web Trends have done a survey to see what people want in a church mobile application (you know… iPhone, iPad, Android, Blackberry). You can see what they came up with here…
